Bad News For BlackBerry: The IPhone Has Penetrated The Enterprise Market

The iPhone may have captured the attention of consumers when it is on the scene three years ago, but companies and IT departments have long been avoided in support of the device. Instead, they supported mobile devices like Research in Motion's Blackberry. They may not be so beautiful or funny, as Jesus Phone Apple, BlackBerry, but get the job done. The iPhone quickly dominated the smartphone market when it launched in 2007, but Apple has primarily marketed the iPhone as a consumer device, Blackberry, and remained a business tool for companies sanctioned. "MicroStrategy Inc., which makes business intelligence software, plans to establish more iPhones to employees and replace only the BlackBerry when they break. The company has 400 iPhone and the BlackBerry 1000, including 200 purchased by employees."

Support and buy items as a tool that is proof that Apple has increased sales figures approaching the dominance of RIM smartphone.

Blackberry are seen as reliable and e-mail phones, but it seems that the company's efforts to update software and add features that have not been able to keep pace with innovations Apple has done with iPhone.

According to the newspaper's efforts to protect the data on Apple lost or stolen iPhone and its compatibility with Microsoft Exchange e-mail since 2008 have made more business.

Latest iPhone this week, goes beyond the capabilities of distributing software and other security features. And according to Ron Spears, chief of AT & T Business Solutions, the company now contributes 40% of sales of the iPhone. Gizmodo's Hands On The BlackBerry Storm

Ohh, the boys at Gizmodo also got a practice with the BlackBerry Storm. Hey, wait a minute, the pictures seem to be taken at the same place as the Engadget hands on, which makes me think they were cannabis in a van (blindfolded), taken to a secret hideout, and 20 minutes with unit before self-destruction. What I want to know is: where was BlackBerry Cool invite? I wish I was thrown into a van blindfolded to see the storm. Caught in a spam filter, I hope. Sigh.

Say hello to ClickThrough:

Let’s talk more about ClickThrough, since using the Storm means using it. RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, who notoriously said he can’t type on a piece of glass, told me that it was in development for years as they looked to evolve past the trackball while accomplishing something no touchscreen has before: Separating navigation from confirmation. So you have to push the touchscreen like a button every time you do something. Typing with it takes some getting used to, even if you can fly on an iPhone or other touchscreen device, because you have to retrain yourself to actually lift your thumb back off of the screen to let it pop back up between every single letter. Since you can’t “flow” continuously in a stream but are pounding out a series of clicks, it’s hard to tell in the limited time I had with it how fast you would be able to go once you’re completely re-trained. It’s a unique and finely tuned sensation, and I liked it, but I could definitely see people loathing it.

Navigation issues:

More on navigation. One annoyance when typing is that it highlights letters in blue rather than doing a magnified pop-up like the iPhone or LG Vu, so letters will probably be obscured if you have fat fingers. One of the weird inconsistencies (there are a few) with needing to clickthrough for an action actually occurs with copy and paste, which took a few seconds to get down since it involved a long hold and drag when it was demoed for me—they oddly didn’t show me the multitouch method shown in the leaked user guide, though RIM later confirmed it would be there. Also worth noting is that it has an accelerometer (which seemed to be a hair more sensitive than the iPhone’s), so it detects whether it’s in landscape or portrait orientation, using the QWERTY keyboard for text entry in the former and SureType for the latter.

The new BlackBerry Browser:

The browser improves upon the one in the Bold and is even more competent at rendering HTML. You have a couple different ways to navigate around a page, though the most unique makes use of the whole screen as a trackpad, so that once you have the cursor pop up, you can put your finger anywhere on the screen to move it around, just like on a notebook. It’s context sensitive, so it’ll do what it’s supposed to when you hit a link or whatnot. It had some trouble with a text entry field in the browser, and had some other jitters but then it obviously wasn’t a final version. RIM’s concern with the user experience is very apparent, so I expect it to be cleaned up when the final version ships, presumably in November for a still undetermined price (crossing fingers for $199).

BlackBerry Javelin 8900 Hands-on Impressions

After spending some extended time with the Telus BlackBerry Storm, it’s now my pleasure to share my impressions with all the Canuck Storm Chasers out there. Where to start? Well let's start first with what immediately stood out more about the OS. First let me say that the storm Telus OS is not yet final. Telus has yet to confirm / charge, whose programs have the storm (which should happen very soon) and they said they were still tweaking the operating system for performance. I did not say that the optimization is for use on the TELUS network or a touch screen interface, but I noticed a slight delay in the letters on the screen while I texted. I also had a little trouble moving from portrait to landscape accelerometer consistently, but I think this was due to FAIL blogger than anything else.

Interestingly, the storm Telus does not have the BlackBerry Center, which was launched with Verizon Storm. When I asked about his absence, I was told that Telus was "looking into it" and "want to talk to RIM." Even if I was not able to catch a peak of OS version , and refine programs or lack of App Center leads me to believe that the storm Telus will start with something greater than OS 4.7.0.65. Now maybe a good time to mention that I heard RIM hopes to release either 0 , 70, or 0, 72 air version this week.

But let's focus more on what was characteristic of the Telus BlackBerry Storm. If you've read my previous posts, you already know, but I can confirm Telus Storm will begin with an 8 GB microSD card pre-loaded on the card is a boat-load of good music and video clips from the Arts Trades and Canadian label. It's a very smart consumer movement on the side of Telus and will use the iPhone crowd of college students eyeing. Hopefully Telus takes this relationship to the next level and make a kind of storm Rocks concert series for the average consumer with some Arts and Crafts bands.

As you can see from the photo above, videos like this is very similar to the BlackBerry Storm. As you may know, the Storm sports Fed HVGA resolution, but on a larger 3.25 inch. This means that the storm sports a lower pixel density than the Fed, so it's videos are only "sharp" rather than "willing mad mad", but the tradeoff is that the videos are much easier to see later on the big screen I think it's a compromise most people would.

BlackBerry Javelin 8900 Hands On

Our friend Kevin over CrackBerry.com has done it again, to get their hands on this pre-release BlackBerry Javelin 8900. Kevin has not dug too deep Javelin characteristics still offer the last word in the group, but his first impression of "Curve on steroids," and 'encouraging that want to feed the BlackBerry Bold a smaller frame.
