Security Gap On BlackBerry

Research In Motion (RIM), a Canadian wireless device company known as the developer of the BlackBerry handheld has recently announced to BlackBerry users about the existence of security gaps, especially for those who use the BlackBerry Application Web Loader version 1.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE). These weaknesses are specifically contained in the ActiveX control on the BlackBerry Application Web Loader which can lead to buffer overflow condition. This condition can be exploited by crackers making it possible to execute a program code from a remote or tie up MSIE. ActiveX control used by MSIE to install applications on BlackBerry.
This weakness will be experienced by BlackBerry users who browse the website that is designed to install the BlackBerry Application Web Loader ActiveX control via a USB connection. If the user selects "Yes" to install and run ActiveX controls it will result in this security hole.

In addition to RIM, Microsoft on their website has also issued an announcement on this matter.
