AT & T To Launch BlackBerry 9810 This Month, Torch Torch 9860 And Bold 9900 Later This Year

Research in Motion has had better days - and for that matter - but it's always been a loyal partner, AT & T, the company that put in the BlackBerry products are faithful to the last twelve years. The tradition continues, as the GSM giant has announced plans to launch 4G Torch BlackBerry 9810 (aka Torch 2) stores sometime this month, after that 4G and 4G BlackBerry Bold 9860 Torch 9900 "by the end of the year ". No specific dates or prices of any of the devices.

9810 Torch comes with a 1.2 GHz processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a total of 8 GB of internal memory (with microSD expansion up to 32GB) and a 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording 720p. Oh, and about "4G" in the title? A spokesman for AT & T confirmed to us that nickname refers simply to HSPA +, the limit of 14.4 Mbps. It is certainly a step up from the original Torch 9800, at least, but our appetite for 4G LTE is deep black. Will it be too little too late for the Canadian manufacturer, or can end this autumn will be sufficient to keep the company healthy until QNX rolls into town?

[Thanks, Gary]
